STEAMworx is a 15-lesson (30-hour) course designed to introduce children ages 5 to 15 to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM); using the experiences of a modern DJ and Electronic Dance Festival Crew. The course concludes with the students producing a music festival consisting of popular songs mixed with original compositions, complete with lighting effects, pyrotechnics, and video. The STEAMworx Team’s mission is dedicated to making a turn-key program available to Elementary Schools as a year-long after-school club.

EDM?
EDM is a broad range of percussive electronic music genres produced largely for nightclubs and festivals. Produced for playback by disc jockeys (DJs), EDM is generally used in the context of a live mix, where a DJ creates a seamless selection of tracks by segueing from one recording to the next. MTV’s Rawley Bornstein described electronic music as “the new rock and roll”, as has Lollapalooza organizer Perry Ferrell.
